How Local and Provincial Democracies Work
What are the most significant differences between local and provincial governments?
Many of the specific outcomes related to General Outcome 6.1—"Students will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the dynamic relationship between governments and citizens as they engage in the democratic process"—may be addressed by inviting students to think critically about the role of citizens in local and provincial governance, including their participation in the electoral and decision-making processes. The accountability of elected officials will also be explored.
