Linking to the Interactive Mathematics Glossary
Example
It's possible to link to the entire glossary from a Word document, a PowerPoint presentation or a self created web page.
The URL for the glossary is /Resources/content/memg/index.html .
Word Document Examples (Macintosh)
Direct URL link
- Open a Word document.
- Type "The following is a link to the Interactive Mathematics Glossary: ".
- Then paste in the URL "/Resources/content/memg/index.html".
- Press the 'space bar', then type ".", and then press the 'enter' key.
When the user control-clicks the link, s/he will be taken to the glossary.
Indirect URL link (through text)
- Open a Word document.
- Type "Interactive Mathematics Glossary".
- Select "Interactive Mathematics Glossary".
- Select "Hyperlink" from the "Insert" pull-down menu.
- Then paste the URL "/Resources/content/memg/index.html" into the "Link to:" text-field.
- Select the 'OK' button or press the 'enter' key.
When the user clicks the "Interactive Mathematics Glossary" link, s/he will be taken to the glossary.
Indirect URL link (through a graphic)
- Copy the image below into the clipboard (Right-click the image and select "Copy image to clipboard" from the resulting pop-up menu.).
- Open a Word document then select "Paste" from the "Edit" pull-down menu.
- Select the image in the Word document by clicking it once.
- Select "Hyperlink" from the "Insert" pull-down menu.
- Then paste the URL "/Resources/content/memg/index.html" into the "Link to:" text-field.
- Select the 'OK' button or press the 'enter' key.
When the user clicks the "Interactive Mathematics Glossary" link, s/he will be taken to the glossary.
