Garfield Gini-Newman
Garfield Gini-Newman is a social studies lecturer at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and the University of Toronto. Prior to joining OISE/University of Toronto, he was a curriculum consultant with the York Region District School Board. During that time he led teams in the development of history and philosophy curricula based on current brain research for at-risk learners in grades 10, 11 and 12. He has spoken widely at conferences in Ontario on brain research, curriculum design and effective assessment practices. Garfield has also authored seven textbooks and has taught in the faculties of Education at York University and the University of British Columbia.
