Tanya Lukin-Linklater
Originating from the Alutiiq Nation of Alaska, Tanya Lukin-Linklater now lives in Edmonton with her small family, where she works as a dancer, singer, storyteller and instructor. As a Mellon Fellow at Stanford University, she trained in theatre and Native American literature. Tanya began dancing in Toronto in 1998. She received her MEd in First Nations Education from the University of Alberta in 2003, where she studied traditional Alaska Native performance art and pedagogy. She enjoys working with youth in dance, song and storytelling and has instructed first-year aboriginal students in English at the University of Alberta since 2003. All of her work is rooted in her experiences as an Alaskan Native woman.
