A NOTE ON CHANGING LANGUAGE: Jean Vanier uses the term "people with intellectual disabilities" in the introductory clip, recorded in 2006. When the Massey Lectures were recorded in 1998, the term "mental handicap" was more commonly used. "People with developmental disabilities" has been widely used as well for the past few years.
