In the new program of studies, the term geographic thinking is used, which is quite a different concept from studying geography. In your book, Edmonton, in our Own Words, you say, with reference to Edmonton: This city is a conversation with a river running through it. Can you say a little more about the connection you feel exists between the river and the people of Edmonton? Linda Goyette speaks to the connection between the river and the people, and the river's contribution to a sense of place and belonging.
