This section includes grade–level rubrics for assessing students’ understanding of mathematical concepts related to number sense. The rubrics are to be used at the start of the school year and address selected skills from the previous grade level. Use this information to select appropriate instructional strategies and supports to match the mathematical strengths and needs of individual and groups of students.
